DVLA Code Challenge 2019
In recent years, Road Safety Wales has been delighted to partner with the DVLA for the Wales National Coding Challenge for 7-11 year olds and 11-14 year olds.
The challenge calls for pupils to develop their problem solving, communication and teamwork skills as well as improving their knowledge of computer programming in a fun and innovative way, while having the chance to win excellent IT equipment prizes for their schools or groups.
Today sees the culmination of the pupil’s hard work with an event at the Richard Ley Development Centre in Swansea, hosted by news presenter Sian Lloyd.
Children in Wales want to be active, healthy and safe, so one of the challenge themes for 2019 is to build a game to encourage their friends to walk or cycle to school, choosing safe routes and avoiding potential hazards on the way. This extremely important message for children will be reinforced at the Road Safety Wales stand, with the support of the Swansea Road Safety Team.
Huge congratulations and good luck to all the participating schools. For a full list of winners and more details on the challenges please visit the DVLA Code Challenge website
