Vale of Glamorgan Active Travel Network Map Consultation
The Active Travel Network Map (ATNM) Consultation will run through 2025 and 2026, aiming to provide the Vale of Glamorgan with a network that allows for walking, wheeling and cycling to become the most natural and normal way of getting about for local journeys. And, by doing so, to promote the health and well-being of everyone and to make our towns and villages more liveable places.
Under the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013, all local authorities in Wales must regularly review and improve their walking, wheeling and cycling routes. The current map was approved by the Welsh Government in August 2022, and now it’s time to reflect the changes and improvements made over the past three years.
The Vale of Glamorgan is reviewing and refining the ATNM to include:
- Existing Routes: These are routes that meet Welsh Government standards for walking, wheeling and cycling (or all three).
- Future Routes: These are proposed routes that either don’t yet exist or need improvements to meet the required standards.
This round of consultation is live from 5 November 2025 until midnight 5 January 2026.
Hard copies of questionnaires are available on request. Drop in sessions will be arranged and dates posted on this page as they are confirmed.
